Michel “HOSS” Bertrand is one of very few fluently bilingual auctioneers in Canada, conducting auctions in both official languages French and English. Born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. He ran and operated a small moving company as well as an antique and used furniture retail store for nearly 20 years. He graduated from the South Western School of Auctioneering in March of 1993 and ran HOSS’ Auctioneering Services Inc. from 1993 to 2004. In only five short years as an Auctioneer, he captured the All Round World and Canadian Champion titles at the championships in 1998. In 2004, he signed a two-year contract as head foreign auctioneer for ICOWORKS, an international commercial industrial auction company. He now owns and operates Global Assets Solutions Inc. Auctioneers, Appraisers and Liquidators with his wife Karen Bertrand. When he is not conducting his own auctions, you can find him auctioneering for some of the biggest and most reputable dealer car auction companies in Canada such as Manheim Canada Inc. (TAA, Milton Ontario), Adesa Montreal, Quebec, Manheim Oshawa Ontario, and every 3rd Saturday you will find him auctioneering cars to the general public for (North Toronto Auctions) located in Innisfil Ontario, Periodically you will find him working as ring man for RM classic car auctions.

 Michel “Hoss” Bertrand is nationally recognized and well respected as a bilingual auctioneer within the industry. He is a graduate of The Institute of Canadian Certified Auctioneers (ICCA), and graduate of the Certified Personal Property Appraisers Guild of Canada (CPPAG). Hoss is presently serving his second year term as President for the Auctioneers Association of Canada, Member in good standing with the Auctioneers Association of Canada, The Auctioneers Association of Ontario, and of the Oakville Chamber of Commerce.
